Accolades for Our BLOG!

I thought I should share this e-mail excerpt from a new neighbor.

"You should know that I found this site before I even put an offer in, and that it was the main reason I bought here. I saw that someone cared enough to keep the community informed, and it seemed really like a unique group of folks. You should pass that fact on."

Thanks, David, and Welcome!

Who's the poker player?

When I grabbed my mail today (OK, it's Sunday... I'm slow), I discovered that someone had dropped in a card promoting their Party Poker affiliate program.

I'm curious... who else in the building plays poker?

TV choices?

I hate TV with a passion... hate it hate it hate it.

I'm also a semi-professional poker player. With the current popularity of televised poker, I feel like I have no alternative but to get cable/satellite so that I can keep up with what's going on.

I know that I can get Comcast cable, and I seem to recall that there's also a satellite dish in the building, but I never paid attention to the specifics because I was never going to connect to either. (Heh.) My needs are fairly simple: ESPN and The Travel Channel. Do both systems offer both? What is pricing like?

The Pearl District

I just wanted to share with everyone a Web site for the Pearl District in Portland, OR. I used to live in Portland before moving to Oakland over 5 years ago. The Pearl has a lot of parallels with our Warehouse Waterfront District (old industrial urban area), but they are much further along in the development of the neighborhood. It is truly a beautiful and special place. Most of the real estate are lofts, which you will be able to see among all of the other interesting things to explore. I think the Pearl District could be inspiration for the WWD and Jack London Square... Let me know what you think.
