Elevator Repaired

Dear FSL Residents,

The elevator was repaired today, but it is possible that some of you may
find that if you have an older, worn key - it may not work anymore. I have
a few extra new keys, so if yours no longer works, just send me an e-mail
and we can make arrangements to get you a new one.

Thanks.

Are You Watering the Plants?

Dear FSL Residents,

Our janitorial service, IGMS, is responsible for watering the plants in the building. They have been doing so regularly, but fear that other people are also watering the plants and that they are receiving too much water. I am not sure if this is the case, but in any event, please DO NOT water any plants as IGMS is responsible for this.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Collins Management Contact Info

Dear FSL Residents,

In case you weren't aware, Dan Stone is our new property management
representative at Collins Management, replacing Paul Collins as our primary
contact.

Dan's e-mail address is Dan@collins-mgmt.com and his phone number is (510)
262-1795, x14.

***All residents are encouraged to communicate directly with Dan or Collins Management if you notice anything around the building that needs attention. You do not need to contact the Board members first, but it would be appreciated if you copied us on any communications to the management company.

Best regards,

Chase Milbrandt
Vice President

Nominating Committee Volunteers?

Neighbors:

Please let me know if you are interested in serving on a Nominating Committee that will nominate those who will serve on the next FSL HOA BOD.

According to the CC&Rs, there are three members of the Nominating Committee, at least one of which must be a current director. I will probably be the one director who serves on that committee, but I want to talk to the other two BOD members before that decision is made.

Best,
David M. Terry

Meeting Minutes pdf.png

Neighbors:

Here, in totality, are ALL the minutes from this board. Thanks to Dan Stone at Collins for compiling these for the homeowners...

Best,
David M. Terry

UPDATE: I OCR'd the PDF file and the results can be viewed here. The advantage to the text format is that it is searchable. The disadvantage is that the OCR process is not 100% accurate, and the resulting formatting can be ugly.

Paul and Tara Leaving Fourth Street Lofts :-(

Hi Neighbors,

I'm sad to say that Paul and I will be leaving the community! We are relocating to Vancouver, BD as Paul has accepted a great opportunity with EA Games.

Since we're leaving just a few months after we signed another lease (doh!), it's our responsibility to find a new tenant for our loft. William Peters, the loft's owner/landlord, is taking an extended vacation on October 2nd, so we need to find this new tenant ASAP!!!

If you know anyone who might be looking, would you please forward this to them? We have really enjoyed living there and I wish I could fit the whole building
in a box to take with me!!

Unfortunately the pictures came out rather dark, but all of you know that our places are bright and beautiful.

CELEBRATE
NATIONAL NEIGHBORHOOD DAY
In the Jack London District!

Sunday, September 12th.

Sidewalk Sale (like a garage sale, but on the sidewalk) from 9am-Noon. Set up starts at 8am, so come early and stake out a spot. Cost to participate is $5, which helps cover advertising costs. Location is 3rd Street between Alice & Jackson. Please RSVP by calling Joanna at (510) 893-4100 or by sending email to rsvp@jacklondondistrict.org.

BARBEQUE! 12:30p-2:30p

F R E E    B E E R
On Harrison between 2nd & 3rd Streets (in front of the Egghouse).

FREE FOOD, FREE BEER
Come meet your neighbors and hear about the newly forming Jack London District Association. For those of you that remember the Jack London Neighborhood Association (aka JLNA), this is the reincarnation of
it. Come, be a part of the community and hear about what's going on. It's FREE (did I mention the free beer?) - burgers, veggie burgers, and all the fixings. Sodas, water, and beer. FREE! Please RSVP so that we know how much food to provide - either call Joanna at (510) 893-4100 or send email to rsvp@jacklondondistrict.org.

Show your enthusiasm for National Neighborhood Day and get involved!

Thanks,

Important Announcement! pdf.png

Neighbors:

Please join me in thanking Jim Pire for his efforts on behalf of our community! This "everyone" alias is appreciated all the more when you DON'T have access to it!

Thank you Jim!

On a different note, I wanted to send out this PDF on the legal opinion given to FSL HOA BOD earlier this week. The board has NOT had a chance to discuss it, and will not do so until the next meeting.

The next meeting will be announced by the middle of next week. Now more than even is a good time to plan on attending the next FSL HOA BOD meeting, as we are discussing vitally important issues--issues that involve YOUR money.

CELEBRATE, SONIC BOOMERS!

Next Sunday, September 12, the Jack London District Association will celebrate National Neighborhood Day by having a SIDEWALK SALE from 9am-noon (on 3rd Street between Alice & Jackson) followed by a neighborhood BBQ from 12:30pm to 2:30pm (on Harrison between 2nd and 3rd).

To participate in the SIDEWALK SALE (and clear out your storage locker) please RSVP by Tuesday (9/7) by calling Joanna Adler at 435-0771 (her regular number is apparently out of order until Tuesday or Wednesday) or emailing rsvp@jacklondondistrict.org.

To join your neighbors for lunch, please RSVP no later than Thursday (9/9) by sending an email with a head count to rsvp@jacklondondistrict.org or calling Joanna at 435-0771. If you don't RSVP there probably won't be enough food.

For more information, visit www.jacklondondistrict.org. I hope to see you all next Sunday! Please tell a friend (or two).

Best,
Gary
