A Proposal

Are you tired of the faded photos outside the elevator doors on the second, third and fourth floors? After nine years, I can tell you that I am. I propose that we should do something about it! We have so many capable artists and technicians in our building that we must be able to improve on those (sometimes) interesting, but fading old prints. I have an idea or two. How 'bout we:

  1. Reproduce the existng photos using modern technolgies, or...
  2. Replace the historical photos with other historical photos of the Jack London District, or...
  3. Allow residents to showcase their talents and display some of their art for an agreed upon period of time, or...
  4. [Insert your own brilliant idea here.]

I'd be more than happy to get involved in a big way. I can reproduce the photos we already have on the walls - without the light damage - at low cost. I have also tried to locate interesting, high resolution photographs of the Jack London District without much luck. Maybe YOU can help?

How 'bout it, neighbors? Can I get some feedback?

Comments

I vote for # 1. I like the photos outside my door but despair ever year as I see them fade and discolor.

I also wouldn't mind new artwork (just so my "vote" takes in that option) but believe it's more difficult to get people to agree to something new.

I definitely agree with you here!

One of the things we noticed when looking to buy our loft was the fact that even the "new" photos were outdated and faded.

Of the options presented above, I like the idea of either getting new historial photos of JLS or using the space for resident artists to showcase their work. The question is, do the artists here like that idea?
